Bake Your Own Granola Mixes


 
Baking Directions

You will need the following items per batch:
1
1) 1/4 c Juice ... your choice
2) 1/2 c Oil ... any oil. Some oils may impart an unwanted flavor
3) 1 1/4 c Liquid Sweetener ... Agave syrup, honey, maple syrup
4) 1 1/2 c Dried Fruit ... suggestions:
- For
My Granola Is Nuts! Mix use raisins
- For
My Apple Raisin 'n Spice Granola Mix use raisins, dried apples, dried cranberries, dried apricots, etc. It's your choice.


5) 1 c Chocolate Chips ... For My Double Chocolate Crunch Granola Mix
6) 2 - 9" x 13" x 2" baking pans
7) Mixing spoon

Optional Ingredients:
• 1 c nuts can be added to all mixes.
• Seasonings (herbs, spices, etc) and flavors (vanilla, etc)
```can be added when combining dry & liquid ingredients.

Special Baking Instructions:
• For Unsweetened Granola: substitute & increase juice for
```the liquid sweetener (1 1/2 c)

• For Low Fat/Fat Free Granola: substitute juice for the
```oil (1/2 c)

• For Unsweetened & Low Fat Granola: substitute & increase ```juice for the oil & liquid sweetener (2 c)

About Baking Temperatures and Baking Times:
• Use an oven thermometer to check the accuracy of your
  oven temperature.

• Keep notes on your baking time. For a crunchier granola, add 5 minutes to the total baking time.

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Total baking time: 30-35 min.
  • Pour dry mixture into large mixing bowl. Stir.
  • In a separate bowl combine liquids and mix until blended.
  • Pour liquid into dry mixture. Stir until evenly coated.
  • Pour dry/wet mixture equally into both baking pans, spread mixture evenly, then place both pans into pre-heated oven.
  • Bake 15 min. Remove pans, stir & evenly re-spread granola, then return pans to oven.
  • Bake another 15 minutes (20 min for crunchier granola).
  • Remove from oven. Add dried fruit. Stir1. Let cool.
  • When adding chocolate chips to My Double Chocolate Crunch Granola Mix wait until the granola is completely cool.
  • Store in an air tight container.
  • 1For more clumps DO NOT stir granola after 2nd baking.  Let cool in baking pans.
